Abstract

Cybersecurity awareness has become a crucial defense mechanism in the face of increasing cyber threats that exploit human error and ignorance. While technological advancements continue to evolve, many cyberattacks still succeed due to a lack of basic cybersecurity understanding among users. This paper presents a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of four peer-reviewed articles published between 2021 and 2023, focusing on cybersecurity awareness strategies across different user environments. The study explores awareness practices in schools, health sectors, and social media platforms. Key findings show that awareness campaigns are more effective when integrated into educational systems and adapted to user behavior. However, challenges such as resource limitations, rapid technological
changes, and low user engagement persist. The review concludes with insights and recommendations for developing more adaptive, engaging, and scalable cybersecurity awareness frameworks.
