About the Journal

Journal of Cyber Security and Information Assurance (CYBIA) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality original research, comprehensive reviews, and innovative case studies in the fields of digital security and information protection.

The CYBIA Acronym Philosophy

The name CYBIA represents the core pillars that define the journal’s scientific mission:

CYB (__Cyb__er Security): Reflects the technical fortresses, offensive-defensive tactics, and infrastructure resilience required to protect the digital ecosystem.
IA (Information __A__ssurance): Reflects the managerial frameworks, risk management, and the absolute guarantee of data integrity, confidentiality, and availability across all organizational levels.

Focus and Scope

CYBIA adopts a balanced approach between technical cyber architecture and its strategic governance. We invite researchers, academicians, and practitioners worldwide to submit their original manuscripts covering three main thematic areas:

1. System Security

Focuses on the protection of core computing units and system architectures, including but not limited to:

Intrusion and anomaly detection systems (IDS/IPS).
Operating system security and database security.
Security frameworks for the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile devices, and Smart Home/Smart City ecosystems.

2. Network Security

Covers the integrity of data transmission and communication protocols, including but not limited to:

Modern cryptographic protocols and key management.
Cloud computing security and secure network architectures.
Perimeter defense (firewalls) and malware/ransomware analysis and mitigation.

3. Assurance and Trust (Governance & Human Factors)

Explores the intersection of security policies, human behavior, and legal compliance, including but not limited to:

Cyber risk assessment methodologies and compliance audits (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001).
Information security governance in both the public and corporate sectors.
Information security awareness, user behavior analysis, and social engineering mitigation.

Out of Scope Policy

To maintain the journal's high standards and specific focus, all submitted manuscripts must demonstrate a clear and direct contribution to security. Manuscripts focusing on general software engineering, standard computer networking, or pure mathematics without explicit discussion, testing, or simulation of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, or defenses will be desk-rejected by the Editorial Board.
