Indonesia's rapid digital transformation is paralleled by significant cybersecurity vulnerabilities, largely attributed to low public awareness. This study quantitatively assesses the impact of cybersecurity awareness on individual security behavior to address an empirical gap in the Indonesian context. Data from a survey of 106 Indonesian digital users were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test a model linking awareness, the understanding of cyber phenomena, and security behavior. The analysis revealed that awareness has a strong, positive, and significant influence on the understanding of phenomena (β = 0.789, p < 0.05) , which in turn has a strong, positive, and significant impact on security behavior (β = 0.732, p < 0.05) . These findings provide robust empirical evidence validating the critical role of awareness as a foundational element for secure digital practices. The study concludes that enhancing public awareness is an essential, evidence-based strategy for strengthening Indonesia's national cyber resilience
